Linktotem vs Linktree

Linktree and Linktotem both publish for free, and everybody has heard of Linktree. Linktotem gives you the full design on the free plan, takes nothing from your sales from €5 a month, speaks Portuguese and has the blocks a local business actually needs. If you sell anything through the page, the 9–12% Linktree keeps is usually the number that decides it.

Choose Linktree if…

  • you want a free page today and basic links are all it needs to hold;
  • you don't sell through the page, or you sell so little that a 9% cut is pocket change;
  • you want the brand people recognise, with its music and social integrations.

Choose Linktotem if…

  • you sell: we take 0% and Linktree takes 9% on Starter and Pro, 12% on Free;
  • you want your own domain — Linktree does not offer one on any plan;
  • you or your clients work in Portuguese: Linktree's app and admin are English only;
  • you run a restaurant, a salon or a practice: hours, menu, map and booking are blocks here.

What each one really costs

Linktree's free plan publishes a page, and so does ours, so for someone who only shares links neither costs anything. Its paid plans, seen from Portugal, are 6 € a month for Starter, 13 € for Pro and 32 € for Premium, each cheaper if you pay for a year up front. Linktotem Starter is 5 € a month, or 50 € a year, and Pro is 12 €.

The difference shows up the moment you sell. Say you sell a 20 € product fifty times in a month: that's 1.000 € in sales. On Linktree Starter or Pro the 9% cut is 90 € for that month, on top of the subscription and on top of Stripe's own fee. On Linktotem Starter it's 0 € — you sell through your own Stripe account and we never touch the money. Linktree's Premium plan also takes 0%, but it costs 32 € a month to get there.

Both sides pay Stripe. Nobody escapes the processor's 2.9% + $0.30 per sale, and any page that claims "0% fees" without saying so is being economical with the truth.

Where Linktree is better

Its free plan has the name people already recognise. We publish for free too, and our design is free where Linktree charges for custom design, but for someone who isn't ready to pay for anything that familiarity is a real advantage, and we're not going to pretend otherwise.

It is the name people know. Tens of millions of pages, integrations with music platforms and social tools we haven't built, and a marketplace of apps. If someone sends you a link in bio, odds are it's a Linktree — and there's comfort in the familiar.

On Premium it takes 0% of your sales, like us, with more selling tools attached. If you're at the scale where 32 € a month is nothing, that's a serious product.

Moving from Linktree

There is no import button, in either direction — and half an hour is usually enough, because most pages are a handful of links.

  1. Open your Linktree in one tab and a new Linktotem page in another.
  2. Copy the links across, or start from a template for your niche and replace the example content.
  3. Add what Linktree couldn't hold: opening hours, a menu with prices, a map, a booking button.
  4. Change the link in your Instagram, TikTok and Google Business profiles.
  5. Keep the Linktree page up for a few weeks pointing at the new one, then close the account.

Questions

Is Linktree free?

The free plan publishes a real page with unlimited basic links. It keeps 12% of anything you sell, shows the Linktree logo, and its per-link analytics are on the paid plans.

Can I use my own domain with Linktree?

No. Linktree's help centre says plainly that it doesn't offer custom domains on any plan, and doesn't provide domain forwarding either. Your address stays linktr.ee/yourname.

Is Linktree available in Portuguese?

The marketing site is, but the product isn't: "The Linktree App and Admin are exclusively in English." If you manage pages for Portuguese-speaking clients, they'll be working in English.

How much does Linktree take from a sale?

12% on Free, 9% on Starter and Pro, 0% on Premium, plus Stripe's own 2.9% + $0.30. Linktotem takes 0% on every plan that sells, from Starter.

Can I put a restaurant menu on Linktree?

Not as a menu. You'd link to a PDF or an image, or list dishes as separate links. Linktotem has a menu block with sections, prices and photos that folds open on the page.

Found a mistake?

We get things wrong, and competitors change their prices without telling us. If a row here doesn't match what you see on their site, write to us with the link and we'll correct the page.
