Instagram money calculator: how much to charge per post

Type your followers, your engagement rate, your niche and where your audience is, and get a price range per Reel, post, carousel, story or TikTok video — plus a rate card you can send to brands. It's an estimate built from the rules of thumb the industry uses, and every factor is explained below.

Let brands find your prices — and you

A rate card in a DM gets lost. A Linktotem page keeps it one tap away from your bio: your price list, your media kit, a contact form and your best work, with a count of who opened it.

  • Your rate card is waiting for you as a price list when you sign up
  • Change the prices or hide them whenever you like
  • A contact form so brands reach you, not your DMs

How to use it

  1. 1

    Type your followers

The number on your profile, on Instagram or TikTok.

  2. 2

    Add your engagement

Optional but worth it: brands pay for people who react, and it tightens the range.

  3. 3

    Pick your niche and market

Advertisers pay more in some niches, and brands in the US pay more than in Portugal or Brazil.

  4. 4

    Download your rate card

A price per format on one image, ready to send when a brand asks “what are your rates?”.

How the price is estimated

There is no public price list for sponsored posts, but the industry works with a rule of thumb: a price per thousand followers, roughly $10 for an Instagram post, a little more for a Reel, much less for a story frame, and $9 or so for a TikTok video. This calculator starts there and makes every adjustment visible.

Engagement moves it: an account whose followers react more than usual for its size is worth more to a brand, so the price goes up about 30%, or down about 25% when engagement is low. The niche moves it: finance and tech advertisers pay the most per person reached, humour and gaming the least. And the market moves it: brands in Portugal and Brazil spend less per post than in the US, even after converting currencies.

Why the result is a range

Two creators with the same numbers can charge very different prices. Content quality, how well the audience matches the brand, past results and how much the brand needs you all count. The range shows where most deals land; the suggested price is the middle. Start there, and move up as brands come back for more.

What's never in the base price: usage rights (the brand running your video as an ad), exclusivity (not working with competitors for a period), rushed deadlines and extra revisions. Each is usually charged on top, often 20 to 50% more.

What a rate card is for

When a brand asks for your rates, a clear one-page answer looks professional and saves a round of messages. Keep it simple: your handle, your audience, a price per format and a line saying rights and exclusivity are quoted separately. Pair it with a media kit that shows who your audience is and what you've done before.

Small accounts can earn too

Brands increasingly prefer several small creators with loyal audiences over one big account. Under a few thousand followers most deals pay in products, but local businesses, affiliate links and your own products or services can pay from day one. What matters is a clear niche and a link in your bio that turns attention into sales.

Private by design

The calculation runs in your browser with the numbers you type. Nothing is fetched from Instagram or TikTok and nothing is sent to us.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How much do Instagram influencers make per post?

As a rule of thumb, around $10 per 1,000 followers per feed post in the US, adjusted for engagement, niche and market. A 20k account with typical engagement often charges $150–$300 per post; in Portugal or Brazil, less.

How much does TikTok pay creators?

TikTok's own creator rewards pay per qualified view and vary a lot. Most creators earn more from brand deals, priced per video much like Instagram posts; that is what this calculator estimates.

How many followers do I need to get paid?

There's no minimum. Under about 3,000 followers most deals pay in products, but a clear niche and engaged audience open paid deals earlier than follower count alone suggests.

Should I charge more for Reels than posts?

Usually yes: video takes more work and reaches more people who don't follow you yet. Stories cost the least, and are often sold in sets of three.

Is this estimate accurate?

It's a starting point built from common industry rules, not a quote. Your real price depends on your content, your audience and each brand's budget.

Do I charge extra for usage rights?

Yes. If a brand wants to use your content in its ads or on its own channels, charge for the period and the channels, often 20–50% on top of the base price.

Why ask for my engagement rate?

Because brands pay for people who react, not for followers alone. With it, the estimate moves up or down and the range gets tighter.
